Many researchers think that brain circuits involving the neurotransmitter dopamine are responsible for helping us use rewards to guide behavior. Since all antipsychotic drugs act on dopamine receptors, there is reason to suspect that either the illness itself or treatments may impact this system. One goal of this current study is to explore how people use rewards to make decisions about everyday things.  A second goal of the study is to explore how people with schizophrenia process rewards and whether the types of medicines they take affect decision making ability.
