The Translational Imaging Research Program (TIRP) conducts research that bridges basic science to clinical applications in schizophrenia and related conditions. We aim to:
1) Understand mechanisms of risk, illness trajectories, and outcomes
2) Develop biomarkers to inform treatment interventions
3) Test novel treatment intervention mechanisms and outcomes
Community
We are located near Baltimore, a short distance from UMBC and the University of Maryland, Baltimore campuses. We welcome tours by schools and community groups. As we seek to strengthen our ties with the community, we invite collaboration with fellow researchers, education and industry entities, and other stakeholders in the community.
Education
We provide neuroimaging research opportunities and training for students, post docs, residents, research fellows and junior faculty.
For questions about tours, collaborations, or education opportunities, please contact: Sam Lightner, Lead Research Project Coordinator, slightner@som.umaryland.edu, 410-402-6823.
